An open letter to the regional party enthusiasts of Karnataka

Congratulations! Namma Karnataka has scored yet another constitutional low in the Indian political diaspora. Karnataka is the center stage of a political crisis which is witnessed never before in an Indian state. We can perhaps tell our grandchildren that we were the mute espies of a shoddy drama that the nation can never forget. This entire event is so appalling that even constitution experts and political whizzes are not able to fathom your party’s conduct. I wouldn’t be wrong if I say that the resolute displayed by your beloved regional party and its members is the heights of contempt that anyone has shown to Indian constitution till date. I would directly accredit this achievement to you, the regional party enthusiast of Karnataka. Well done! Congratulations to you for nurturing a regional party whose family business has successfully ruined the fortune of a vibrant state
**SLOW CLAPS**

You knew the family business
Just rewind a year and recall the pre-poll state of Karnataka Assembly elections of 2018. You, I and almost everyone; even the state, in itself was in tatters; thanks to an arrogant former CM’s monarchy vibe. For the foreseeable future, it was unimaginable even for you to think that this regional party could win majority and form the government. And yet, you supported the family business blindly. How did you even arrive at the conclusion that your regional party with 30+ seats would acquire greater political space and do good for the state? How tactless could you get?
**SLOW CLAPS**

You knew the party Supremo
“A cat has nine lives, but he has ten” is a famous proverb of sorts opined about your beloved party chief. Time and again, he has proven himself  nothing more than an elite opportunist who has always played his cards wisely to gain political sympathy and use it just to his family’s advantage. You are a fool, if you really believed that he had a vision for the goodwill of Kannadigas. Right from his ministerial days to this day being the chief of your beloved regional party, he has always been an influence peddler and a political graft. His vision is nothing more than just to baptize his family members into ministry. For the records, he betrayed Janatadala and BJP each twice and now Congress too. And you still believed that your chief is a messiah? Whoa! What a shallow thought process you have.
**SLOW CLAPS**

You knew the contestants
Apart from one or two contestants, all the members of your beloved political party are involved in Nepotism, crony capitalism, kickbacks, goondaism, kleptocracy etc. Beyond the party president and family members, there is hardly any second-tier leadership. This makes all the difference in bringing about a change in society. You very well knew it.
And more importantly, you knew precisely well that it was a pre-poll alliance with Congress, whose administration was at its worst for the last five years. And you believed that people with such track record will bring about changes in administration! Whoa! Your idea is dope!
**SLOW CLAPS**

You knew the fate of regional parties
You knew that regional parties of neighboring states have terribly failed at national level and there are ample examples from the other side of the country to back this sentiment. You were precisely aware of the fact that the only regional party of Karnataka which you supported was never capable of polarizing the votes of the regional masses unlike our neighboring states.  How stupid are you to accredit a family business as secular? In what way are they secular?
**SLOW CLAPS**

You knew the myths and facts
There was a time when regional parties fueled the national parties to come to power and a lion’s share of the central funds were also diverted to the regional parties who supported. But this has considerably reduced. The trend now is that one regional party is eating up the vote share of the other regional party, creating rivals within. The result of this is that they are caught in the web which they themselves knit.

The regional parties are indirectly polarizing the votes against themselves and are increasing the vote shares of the national party. The same applies for your beloved party. Even more so because they are the only regional party in Karnataka. If my understanding is right, 20+ states are ruled by national parties. Among them, the major revenue generating states are currently ruled by BJP, again a national party and they all have fared better under the national party rule. So even with numbers, your part does not fare well. You very well know what happened to a regional party's fate whose founder was poised to be the greatest anti-corruption crusader this country has seen after Gandhi and was later reduced to a mere film critic and a wannabe PM candidate.

In the last few weeks, there is more evidence than ever about the true intentions of your beloved political party. The political drama that has unfolded in the last week has put our state (and of course the nation) to utter shame. On a positive note, it has also strengthened people’s views that your political party is crooked and power hungry. And why not! If they had an ounce of respect for the constitution or the public apathy and had they come together like this to solve public problems instead of saving their seats, Karnataka and Bangalore would be in better position today.

Political inclination is good, as long as they are willing to do good (Like Orissa). But inspite of knowing most of the above facts and of course, the party’s vested interests, you, supporting them is not reasonable. I believe that, in a democratic system like ours, supporting the right political party is aam aadmi’s contribution to the purification of the nation. This purification is a continuous process and when does rightly, it is highly infectious because it necessarily leads to the purification of your own surroundings. Don’t impure your political inclination by means of caste, religion, hate, for self-gain, to conquer your subtle passions. In the longer run, the purer your political inclination is, the more benefits you and your society will reap. It is time you realize in your mind, word and deed that your beloved political party is nothing more than family business. PERIOD!

Does Amma deserve sanctity?

My mobile flashed. “She is dead and this time it is irrevocable”; said dad’s pun intended text message. After all the media tantrums about Amma being dead and coming back to life several times, dad finally confirmed that she is really dead. The only little perks of dad being in the press are that I get breaking news a little earlier. Since yesterday evening, the way media is fostering her accomplishments and her life, her path to righteousness and so on, I’m pretty sure she’ll attain sanctity after death. But does she really deserve it?

Even Superman is Amma fan!
I don’t know much about her past and since I grew up in the early and late 90s, I’ve been hearing/following her only from the past decade. If she has done very noble deeds in the pre 90s, by virtue of which she is getting this sainthood, then probably I am off beam. But I don’t believe that is any true. She was never a great admirer of democracy. I have always seen her narcissistic conduct in front of media, in party meetings and many other public forums. Not just common man, she made even the ministers in her own cabinet fall on her feet “literally” and receive blessings. Although my TN friends tried to convince me that they did it out of pure respect for her, I fairly disagree to it. Oh! Come on. In a democracy like India, there are lots of other ways to show benevolence to your superiors. Amma in locket, Amma in wedding ring, Amma’s picture in wedding card instead of bride, I mean that is ridiculous! Above all, Irony committed suicide when O Panneerselvam kept her picture in the Chief Minister’s armchair during her prolonged illness and he sat next to it giving public statements that Amma is still the Chief Minister and that I am just following her orders. Her dictatorship made Tamil Nadu a totalitarian state which in other words is a great blow to democracy.
O Panneerselvam taking blessings from Amma
Coming to her arrogance, the whole world knows about it. It was like she always flaunted arrogance and displayed it, carried it with her in forums where it was totally uncalled for. That stance of her only showed her self-importance. I do not know why people called her voice of aam aadmi and sensationalized the whole interview when she ruthlessly ill-behaved in a TV interview with Karan Thapar. I’m not a Karan Thapar admirer. But according to me that was a premeditated way of winning confidence of certain section of the society; an opening that gave her secured access to votes of particular class of people and nothing more. She was accused of changing ministers in her cabinet who was against her strategies and ideals. I’ve also heard from many that Nepotism was at peak in entire TN State during her tenure as chief minister.
Amma is in supporter's heart!

She openly accused Marans and DMK of corruption but herself had few cases against her. Among them, funds misappropriation and disproportionate asset cases gained national importance. When she was acquitted, she came back with more power and egotism and she used it to further her authority in the state and national politics. My memories of how public life was thrown out of gear whenever she visited Bangalore for case hearings with Z grade security is still afresh in my mind. When Chennai had severe floods and relief material was sent, her supporters stamping every relief bag with stickers of Amma spoke volumes on how much power hungry and autocratic she was. Her conceited image was actually celebrated by many subordinates and followers across her state.

I believe even for the native Tamilians and their economy, she has done more harm than good by giving freebies to secure more votes. Every Amma supporter in the state of Tamil Nadu state today has a color TV, mixer grinder, Laptop and many more things to lead a comfortable life and they even get a sumptuous meal for just 10 bucks, thanks to Amma canteen. But on the other side, in the name of freebies, TN’s debt has increased to more than 2 lakh crore. Currently TN’s fiscal deficit is at 40,000 crore.
Ksheerabhishekam (milk bath) for Amma by her supporters
But why media is sensationalizing her death by calling her “Iron Lady”, “Lady who broke Gender barriers”, Revolutionary leader” and so on? If death can obliterate all the terrible deeds of 60 years of one’s life, what is the difference between a true saint’s life and hers?  Does she really deserve it? It is for us to decide. This whole thing reminds me of a saying which I read somewhere:

Death changes everything… Time changes nothing!

Please do not throw rotten tomatoes at the judiciary

This has been a year of judicial tragedy for Indian democracy. Or does it look like? Within a year, many celebrity criminals walked free escaping punishment. Court freed a Chief Minister from the clutches of a fund misappropriation case, a famous actor was acquitted of a heinous crime, a rape victim tried in a juvenile court and sent to asylum  and now the Cauvery verdict which is not at all fair for our state. From past few days, social media is abuzz with memes, statements and cartoons making fun of Indian Judicial system. Many of my friends on WhatsApp blamed our judiciary for the Cauvery verdict. Some went ahead and accused even the justice bench to be close aides of TN Chief Minister and hence the verdict is pro TN. I agree that the verdict is unfair for Karnataka, but the blasphemy on our judiciary is not just right. For me, there appeared to be a sense of lawlessness among people. My dear friends, our judiciary is doing its job impeccably and there is no way we can hold our judiciary culpable for someone else’s folly.

If you can recall what we all studied in primary school social science, the three pillars of Indian democracy are the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. It is executive and its representative’s responsibility to maintain law and order in public life. And who are these representatives? The President, The Prime Minister and other appointed officials of Government. It is their duty to make sure that law and order is not overlooked and they are legally made responsible for people’s social and collective well-being. Judges are appointed to interpret and enforce the law. They belong to a different pillar called judiciary. Now good governance lies in the co-operative functioning of these two pillars. I can compare this to a professor-student relationship. Just because two or three students in the class failed, you cannot put the blame on professor when the rest have managed to score well. Just because the student got sick, professor cannot fill in for him in exams, although the professor is aware of the student's capabilities. Just like the professor has a certain decorum of University which he has to follow, the judges are also abided by rules of the constitution. Teaching is his job which he is doing excellently. In other words, the “judiciary” pillar is functioning perfectly. On the other hand, the “student” pillar (executive) cannot blame the other pillar (judiciary) for its own mistake. In fact, the professor is trying to balance by taking that extra load when required.

Now, coming onto emotions of people; it is not that emotion does not play its part during a case hearing. After all judges are human beings, just like you and me. Without that, judges can be replaced by robots. So I strongly deem that emotions definitely have scope in any case hearing. But it is always tempered according to the arguments put forth by the lawyers and prosecutors. This is where the dexterity of the appointed lawyers come into picture. If a lawyer fails to take advantage of this, it is not judiciary’s problem. I believe this is what happened in the Cauvery Verdict. Any justice bench would have given a similar verdict with the way Karnataka's legal team presented the case.

Emotion can never be a strong driver in a legal analysis. In other words, during the entire case hearing, it should never be the bad cop. If this happens, it is a dangerous sign. A judge can never consider the emotions outside the purview of the case in the final judgment. In a practical scenario, deliberation is not as easy to handle as it is read from the verdicts and newspaper write-ups.The logical model of judicial decision-making is very different from that of how we perceive things from outside.

As a common man, we are indeed emotional and it is okay to protest. But there are lot of other peaceful ways. The least we can do is not to give ears to the rumors that judge was unfaithful, justice bench was surreptitious, judiciary is a failure or other such nonsense. By doing this, we are vexing others and thus spreading hatred. Before coming to conclusion in such occasions, think wise and don’t let your rage blind spot the facts and figures. Instead of instinctively making the judicial system a bad cop, albeit the challenges, for now and for a long time to come, let us appreciate the fact that ours is one of the best judicial systems of the world.

Gandhi v/s Indian youth – Why we hate the Mahatma

You might have come across so many in your friend’s circle (May be you are one among those) who always talk ill on Mahatma Gandhi and express their displeasure that he is solemnly responsible for all the ignominy that is happening in India. So much so that today’s youth don’t even think twice before sharing some stupid fabricated posts on facebook that Gandhi was a rapist and other such nonsense. This is not an attempt to correct your views. I’m not taking that big risk. This is my prompt or rather equivocal attempt to at least make you realize that you’re wrong at the very fundamental level of your irrational thinking.

Gandhi and partition:

Jinnah and Mountbatten
The major reason why today’s youth have developed a voluntary hatred for the mahatma is because of the partition. If you think, partition happened only because of Gandhi, you’re off beam. Gandhi never endorsed partition. Please be informed that he died because of Hindu Muslim disharmony. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the real partition endorser and Lord(?) Mountbatten backed it. Power greed Jinnah along with the Muslim League induced the fear of Hindu domination in Muslims’ mind and came up with a two nation theory. Lord Mountbatten backed it and Indian political leaders accepted the plan.

Gandhi in fact was against it. Very much against it! He was not solely responsible for partition.

Gandhi could have saved Bhagat Singh:

Tribune headlines after Bhagat Singh was executed
Yet another myth why our youth hate Gandhi is inspired by the bollywood biopic's take that Gandhi did not make an attempt to save Bhagat Singh, Sukh Dev and Raj guru. But think it over. Which biopic in bollywood has completely justified the actuality without mutating the truth? They've featured Bhagat Singh in a duet, Milkha Singh romance Australian coach’s daughter.

The movie which show that Gandhi-Irwin pact was blindly signed by Gandhi is total bullshit. It is true that there were differences in Bhagat and Gandhi’s principles. But Gandhi said you can fight oppression without the gun, you can mobilize people without violence. He insisted rebels like Subhash Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh to take peace path and not piece path.

Gandhi and Subhash Chandra Bose in 1938 congress meeting
Gandhi did whatever he possibly could to save the trio. Lord Irwin, who carried the final authority regarding Christian sentiments of British officials for the Murder of Saunders.
the executions, promised that he would consider Gandhi’s submission. Irwin at one time almost submitted to Gandhi's negotiation. But all the British officers of Punjab threatened to resign and Irwin had to succumb to the prospect of a judicial error and the appeal of the

Unfortunately, Raj Kumar Santoshi forgot to include this part in his screenplay

Gandhi favored Nehru and not Patel

Gandhi and Sardar Patel
It’s not that Gandhi was not aware of this dishonesty done to Sardar Patel by favoring Nehru. But Gandhi for obvious reasons never anticipated that supporting Nehru would prove this costly for India.  He had fully realized that what he was trying to bring about was wrong and totally unfair. In fact, he tried to make Nehru understand that Congress was in favor of Patel.. He conveyed to Nehru that no Congress member has nominated his name excluding a few members. But Nehru was impertinent and made it clear that he will not play subordinate to anybody.

A thwarted Gandhi succumbed to Nehru's pig-
Gandhi, Nehru and Sardar Patel together
headedness and asked Sardar Patel to take back seat. Sardar Patel had great respect for Gandhi and he took out his submission without saying a word. Perhaps, Gandhi wanted both Nehru and Patel to provide leadership to the country. He used his veto power in favor of Nehru because he feared Nehru could cause problems in the way of India’s independence if he was not given the chance to become Prime Minister. Gandhi feared that this would even delay India’s independence and that would cost dear to the nation.

Gandhi on social networking

As I said earlier, almost everyone who post ill on Gandhi on social networks don’t even know Gandhi’s full name. People and groups who share posts that Gandhi was gay, Gandhi had sex with his women ashram inmates and other such rubbish don’t even know a bit about India’s freedom struggle. They don’t keep an independent view of political, spiritual and cultural aspects of life. Most of us ignore such posts, but stupidity is also infectious. You can’t stop more youth from believing that whatever is on the internet is true.

I’m not at loggerheads that what Gandhi did was right or wrong. But we all know that it was in the best interest of the nation. We all know that he was never against the betterment of India and Indians. Don’t we? Most of us Indians will never respect him, that’s fine. But what is really depressing is that we are carelessly spreading rumors about a great man of our own nation who is respected for his deeds, for his preaching and his leadership skills (300 million people listening to one voice is something that we can’t even imagine in today’s world) everywhere in the world.

If not for his deeds, at least we should respect him for his strength of mind, for his integrity, and above all for his purest love for a force called “India”

The voice of Sarabjit Singh - a victim of political feebleness

Most of you can’t sit next to your own irritating bosses for just eight hours. I did it for 22 long years. I said I was a farmer. But they called me a terrorist. They arrested me for crossing the border. But they charged that I’m a bomber.  I said I’m a stupid common man. They branded me as “Indian Spy”. I told the truth. But they convicted me and awarded death sentence.

I was waiting to hear from my countrymen. But they kept quiet

They kept me in solitary confinement for more than 15 years. I didn’t have enough space in the prison to stand up on my feet. I was chained with iron rods. I never got a chance to see or hear from wife and two daughters for ages. I heard that my sister did everything she could and campaigned assiduously for my release.

I was waiting to hear from my countrymen. But they kept quiet

My lawyers filed mercy plea five times. They collected 100,000+ signatures. They started an online campaign, a UK lawyer (Jas Uppal) came to help me. Some Canadian Human rights group helped me come out of my solitary confinement.

I was waiting to hear from my countrymen. But they kept quiet

They never verified my true identity. They tortured me to confess that I was a terrorist. I said I know only Hindi. They conducted court trials in English. Witnesses changed. Their versions changed. But their decision didn’t.  I was made a scapegoat. They finally decided to release me. But few hours later, they called it a hoax.

I was waiting to hear from my countrymen. But they kept quiet

I was attacked in central jail with bricks, iron rods, blades and other weapons. I went to coma and was admitted to a hospital. By now I had lost hopes that my countrymen will help me. But this time they broke their silence. My noble countrymen asked them to release me on humanitarian grounds. I felt so happy that my country’s noble babus at least know my name. All of a sudden, I was the talk of the town. NDA condemned UPA that it did nothing. UPA fired back what NDA did during its rule to get him back.

And now that I’ve ceased to exist, I’m freed of waiting for help, I’ve got ample free time to think if I’m really a victim of mistaken identity or an illustration of a country’s political feebleness and folly.

By the way I’m Sarabjit Singh, a farmer from a remote village of India and this, is my story!

The conscience of creativity

I thoroughly enjoyed the recent war of words between two biggest National dailies and the media Moguls, The Times of India and The Hindu. I never expected Hindu to come back in such a vigorous and influential way, rather nobody did. Take a bow Hindu! The powerful reply by Hindu reinforces the fact that in business “Dignity belongs to the conquered”.
There is an opinion in the minds of the public that a person who reads The Hindu has a very good vocabulary or if you want to take your vocabulary to next level, you should read The Hindu. On the other hand, The Hindu has always remained unbiased from the controversies and it has won readers by virtue of this quality. I had always thought that Hindu lacks creativity. But this episode proved me all wrong.
It all started with TOI coming up with an ad wherein a guy who is holding a newspaper (that is supposed to be Hindu) sleeps everywhere. The hidden meaning wass that people who read Hindu exhibit boredom.
I never expected Hindu to react so creatively. I just loved it the way they attacked TOI. Some of the awesome one liners by Hindu goes like this:
Read about Political Parties. Not about Page3 parties
Sense... Not sensational
For the current affairs... which are beyond bollywood affairs
Because government malfunctions matter more than wardrobe malfunctions.

Just watch the below videos and you’ll have the answers:

Conclusion: The media pot shots can be treat as well as an eye opener. The conscience of creativity never fails. I wrote about this because I have always believed in the power of knowledge. My special thanks to The Hindu for reinforcing and re iterating the fact that “Knowledge is everything”. Now it is up to you to decide. What do you want: Kareena’s bikini picture or some gyan. Whatever you read. But make sure you
Stay ahead of times!

Diwali special: Indi YEAH shining

It’s time to celebrate and rejoice in India. After all the fiascos that gripped the nation, including the national loss of collective shit on facebook about Steve Jobs’ death, finally the gods of lights have indeed showered some light on us. I’ve got the feeling of ‘its good to be great’.

The SMART act: For the first time or rather after long time (whichever comes only one time) our cops have acted before it is too late to avert a disaster. Delhi Police have seized 5 kg of RDX before they went in wrong hands. If you know what tremors a whoopingly fucking 5kg of RDX can trigger, you’ll fathom the intensity and importance of it. This time, as a diwali gift, Delhi police just got some luck.

Bangalore Metro: Finally Bangalore is a “Metro” politan city. The reach one of Namma Metro is thrown open to public, in ishtyle. And the news from the Indiranagar is that it is awesome. BMRCL is grinning. After spending 6000 crore, BMRCL was skeptical whether it would fetch a smile on 6000 Ulsoor residents. And whether Yeddi missed the Metro or Metro missed Yeddi, only time will tell.

Yeddi in Jail: For all the developmental works he did for his family, oops I mean Karnataka (for him, his family is state), he was treated with due respect by the court; Bailing out everyone except him. Yeddi’s mindset was like Lance Armstrong thinking if he could win Tour De France, he could win f1 on is cycle. But this Diwali, he ran out of his stock of luck. Well, R.Ashok is all alone outside and hopefully, as a Diwali gift by namma lokayukta police, BSY will have a companion. He was only happy to come back to jail from Hospital. Damn his Astro palmist. After all, if Kalmadi can get Dementia in Jail for 70,000 crore, If Telgi can contact AIDS worth 36000 crore, Docs think Yeddi’s chest pain was worth every penny.

CBI’s almost close to making Raja and Kanimozhi’s current place, a permanent one. Telangana strike has ended for good. India taking a fantastic revenge on Englishmen, My Company surprised me with a festive bonus and what else you need. It’s Indi YEAH shining..!!!

Oops.. I just realized, since its Diwali, I’m afraid I can’t say “Have a BLAST”. Enjoy the good days :o)

“YOUR” value in “OUR” country

The phrase “History repeats” holds very well in India. Ironically, an incident, even before becoming history, repeats in India. Blasts, scams, train accidents, air crash, everything! That too not just once or twice, but several times. Yes…!!! Fate in India seems to have a disclaimer “To be continued…”

Ambulance in traffic jams:  This is almost everyday sight to me. The “who cares” attitude of our fellow motorists has reached heights. When there is an ambulance stuck in traffic, everyone starts honking so loudly, as if they’re concerned and worried, but no one moves. The honking decibel gain is so much (I know you’re one of the honkers) that the siren goes unheard. No one moves thinking it’s just the motorists composing some tunes. End result – The ambulance becomes the Vaikunta Yatra vehicle. And you, the traffic cop..?? I know you’ve bribed to get this job. But at least when someone’s life is at stake, shut the fuck up and do your duty. How easily you zoom through the traffic while dropping off your loved ones to their destination on the pulsar given to you. Make some way for the ambulance also. Or did they ask you a lakh more to train you on how to stop vehicles?

Train accidents:  Like in a Hollywood flick, trains keep on ramming each other, that too, head on. And people sleeping inside are put to sleep forever. I can bet you the frequency of train accidents in India is more than Siddharth Mallya brushing his teeth. This, I say, is the result of hiring all the local bastards who can’t even speak the national language. You say Teri Maa and they’ll hear it teriyuma: Talking to a TC in any of the Chennai-Bangalore train is nothing less than a trauma. Thanks to the “great” reservations in Indian railway jobs. What happened yesterday night is the 3rd major rail mishap in past 2 months. But which fucking railway minister has taken measures to learn from mistakes? “One of the World’s largest railway network”, “World’s largest Employer” with a rich “150 years of experience”, Indian Railways does not have simple technology in place to stop two trains when they run on the same track. This, if I’m not wrong, is a simple high school science project. And Congress talks of austerity and Rahul Gandhi travels in Jan Shatabdi. What a political game show..??

Bomb Blasts: I really don’t have to tell you anything about this. Mall, train, Market and now in high court also…!! Where else is aam aadmi safe? I remember Naseeruddin Shah’s dialog in a famous movie. “Rathore sahab mujhe yakin hai ki jo train blast huye wo sirf ek terrorist activity nahi thi, wo ek bahut bada saawal tha, aur wo sawaal ye tha ki “Bhai hum to tumhe isi tarah marenge, tum kya kar loge??”  Yes, they asked us this Question on a Friday and repeated it on Tuesday”. But unfortunately, we are still waiting to reply on a Wednesday..!!! What has Mr. P Chidambaram done, every time a bomb blast occurred, other than giving death statistics to media? 11/7, 26/11, 13/7, 7/9… The list is going on and on and on. How many more of these dates do we need to remember..?? While our leaders are so occupied creating a scam out of soldier’s bulletproof jackets, Kasab, Afzal Guru and many others are partying hard in prison. Murugan grabbed the free fuck offer from visiting wife Nalini. (Onam gift from congress?) Raja, Kanimozhi, Kalmadi and Janardhana Reddy are practicing the group song “Main karun to saala, character dheela hai” to perform in the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. Wow! I think the movie ‘A Wednesday’ would have made more or rather perfect sense if there were these people in place of terrorists.

With all these happenings, what do you think is the “value” of your life, in India? Well, if you’re counting your assets and bank balance sheets, I’m really sorry. Tragically, it’s nothing more than a death compensation ranging from 50,000 to a lakh (Hoping that middle men don’t pocket in at least this). Because you never know when and where you’ll run out of luck. It makes me sad to say that “Life” has such cheap value in this great country.

After all, what difference does it make to them, if a mere 100 is lessened in the midst of a billion people?

An open letter to Anna Hazare

Dear Annaji,

I was really pleased to see this post of my friend on facebook.  Thanks to Anna.. Indian media has not taken notice of the whitewash”. If Indian MEDIA has accepted that there is something more important than Cricket, then I just couldn’t fathom the Impact! Perhaps, no Indian could. Hats off to you, Annaji .!!! You have done what none of Amma, Appa or Akka could do in past 50+ years... Bringing us together. Take a bow.

For a blasphemous political party who singlehandedly ruled the nation for 50 years, you’ve single handedly taught them a lesson. I’m very proud of the fact that after ages, you’ve made them bite their nails. I’m even more proud to say that, some of them, panic stricken after reading your version of Jan lokpal, bit their fingers in anxiety. For a party that has Price Rise, terrorism and scams in their agenda, you’ve made them realize that a common man is always mightier than a congress man.

And who has cast the magic spell of “Protest” in our people..??? Who has helped us realize our true resilience..??? From Ramlila maidan to Azad maidan, Freedom Park to JP Park, grounds to gullies, mails to messages… anywhere and everywhere, the support you got was just momentous and you deserved it. We appreciate it wholeheartedly. I feel that we, Indians (feeling contented to use this word on this instance) exhibited the meaning of unity in all the possible way. Indian youth now seem to understand that there is more than just ‘I’ in Indian. From the past 2-3 days, I’m pretty convinced that we are ONE small nation of JUST a billion people. I salute you.

But what makes me sad is that, while prominent leaders like Kiran Bedi, Shanti and Prashant Bhushan, Santosh Hegde and lot of others are working for a cause, there are some anti social elements like Arundathi Roy, Mahesh Bhatt, some brainless Dalit leaders and stupid maulvis, who are campaigning against your ‘crusade against corruption’. I’m not sure if they even have the faintest idea of what team Anna is fighting for.  May be they want to get noticed or trying to seek attention and become a celebrity overnight (Arundathi Roy has tried it every time, but failed miserably). To hell with those dumb witted opportunists. I guess Public is taking care of them giving them what they deserve. All the masterminds who’ve been altering all the anti corruption bills according to their necessities and requirements are now shitting in their pants, because your Jan lokpal bill has no flaw in the law.

While the Nation is seeing a Gandhi in you, what the corrupted netas see in you is a Yamraj who they can’t even bribe. You keep uniting all of us. We are all thankful to you and every true Indian is proud of you. Take care of your health. On behalf of a billion Indians, I wish you all the very best for your… oops... . our endeavor. Let the bill change from Jokepal to Lokpal.
“Lage Raho Anna Bhai”
